Revealed: Journey of Building a Team of 2 to 92 in Just About 3 Years

Do you know what’s eChai?

No? Let me tell you.

eChai is an interesting venture by Point10 that focuses on promoting entrepreneurial culture among youth. eChai is run by an awesome young entrepreneur called Jatin Chaudhari.

I was invited to talk about my experience as an entrepreneur and share my experience of building Space-O team from 2 to 92. I was to speak for about 45 minutes.

Rakesh Patel at eChai

The audience was of around 175 people interested in entrepreneurship and it was a good experience to be with other aspiring entrepreneurs such as Pallav Parikh from CityShor, TanmayVora from QAspire and Abhinav from Evomo.

It felt good to be the opening speaker. I spoke about brutal realities that every entrepreneur sees in his entrepreneurial journey. You may like to have a look at some of the pointers I covered in my speech.

People liked what I had to say. Many of them asked questions. Many of them wanted to meet me once the session was over. See the Full Coverage by Buddybits

At this point, my #1 advice to all the entrepreneurs there is: start small, focus on execution, inspect what you expect and no one can stop you from achieving what you want. Only time is between you and your goal.

All the best!

Apple – Google Saga

Some things are easier said than done, and to me Apple-Google relationship is one of those.

Coincidently, Tapastic’s Snaggy and Nitrozac have got the same view which they share in a very interesting way. Here’s their outlook on “Google’s Relationship With Apple Is Improving.”

Stay Focused

With focus, failure is seldom. What inspires and motivates me is how the great boxer “Mohammed Ali” used to wrap his fights in no time.

Everyone knows how he slammed his opponents instantly. Now interestingly he did not throw too many punches and instead focused upon punching where it mattered.

And that one well directed blow with great focus almost knocked out his opponents.

Again I recall of a great quote from another great fighter and martial arts expert, “Bruce Lee” which goes as

I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.

What I personally learned out of it is that one cannot achieve great results without focus.

When I co-founded Space-O with Atit, we chose to focus only on Elance putting our hearts and heads into it rather directing our efforts and efficiencies in multiple business development channels. And this is what we have accomplished:

  • 329 Mobile App Projects completed in 915 working days meaning each mobile app was delivered in an average of 2.78 days
  • 902 Milestones Achieved
  • 187 Five Star Reviews
  • 168 New Clients Acquired
  • Over 31% Repeat Clients

This is not all, we have been into strategic alliances and partnerships with several companies across the world that contributes in our growth and helps us to become the fastest growing mobile app development company in India.

So my advice in a word, “Stay Focused”.

And just in case you need the key, you can follow this law of focus which says “If you chase two rabbits, both will escape”.

Updated: 15 July 2014

Space-O has turned one of the fastest growing mobile app development companies in India with the successful completion of over 500 mobile app development projects and a clientèle of more than 200 customers in a short span of 3 years.

And as a CEO and Co-Founder of the company, I can say our growth is the result of the constant efforts by our skilled forces working together; and not by any luck or chance.

Take a minute to see how Space-O Technologies, “the fastest growing mobile app development company with get the shit done culture” works.

Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning. We believe good quality infrastructure is a key ingredient so we established high end research and development center. Have a look at this video of our new development center in Ahmedabad, India.

iPhone Software Development Tools To Create Killer Apps

iPhone Software Development Tools are plenty, but I recommend only a handful of them for creating killer iPhone apps that stand apart. Being a CEO of Mobile App Development Company, I can say I’ve acquired a reasonable, if not detailed insight about the various iPhone Software Development Tools, on the basis of which I can suggest a few.

Apart from iOS SDK, I find following iPhone Software Development Tools very useful:

  1. Unity (or Unity3D): This is an amazing game engine that’s cross platform compatible supporting various mobile platforms including iOS, Android, Windows, Blackberry, etc. With Unity, one can write a highly stable code compared to other languages. I can say it is an ideal pick for 2D, 3D and Physics based games.

In fact, at Space-O, we already created a few such games using Unity, that include CricketFight, Caribbean Ludo, MadBox, Plane Rush, Pig City: The Quest For Freedom Find the Coin, Find the Coin, Eat Fish, Full Tilt, etc. Check them out here at: www.spaceotechnologies.com/projects/2d-3d-games

  2. Wikitude: The reason I’m personally prefer this tool is because I feel this is the best Augmented Reality (AR) SDK and in fact it has also been voted “Best Augmented Reality Browser” by the AR community 4 years in a row. It was the first publicly available software that used a location-based approach to AR.
  3. PhoneGap: PhoneGap gets my vote for the ease, economy and efficiency it offers to all mobile app developers including iPhone. It is exceptionally flexible supporting up to 7 different mobile platforms and also works well with other software like Wikitude, Wink Toolkit among others.
  4. Sencha Touch: I like Sencha Touch because it allows us to build beautiful user interfaces for iPhone web applications and yet render a native-app-like experience with similar look and feel.

The best part is it’s free and has no limitations on the number of apps to be developed with it. To put it in simple words, we can create infinite iPhone apps with no per seat or per user payments. Great, isn’t it?

Hope these iPhone Software Development tools will help to create killer apps with high value and better juice for users. And to do so you can even outsource our iPhone App Development Services.

Apple Alleges “Samsung Galaxy S4” and “Google Now” of Patent Infringement

Apple has officially filed a motion mentioning 5 alleged patent infringements by Samsung Galaxy S4 and another 2 Siri related patents infringed by the device’s Google Now voice controlled search feature.

I got to know that Apple ascertained that Samsung’s Galaxy S4 practices many of the same claims already asserted by Apple, and that it practices those claims in the same way as the already-accused Samsung devices.

Interestingly, Apple’s motion does NOT mention the Galaxy S4 Google Edition, which Google announced at last week’s Google I/O developer conference.

However, Google Now is still under the alleged patent infringement. Find out more…

Skinny iPad 5

iPad 5 Could Be Less Than 1 Pound

iPad 5 could weigh 33% lesser – no not on your pockets but in your hands. I’ve read various rumor reports claiming Apple’s fifth-generation iPad super skinny weighing less than a pound (around 0.66 pounds to be specific).

Skinny iPad 5

Also the awaited iPad 5 will hit the mass production in July and launch “as soon as September,” if we follow the word from the supply chain sources.

What’s more in the iPad 5?

  • 9.7-inch 2048 x 1536 resolution display is same although this one is built on a glass substrate thinner than its predecessor (0.2mm versus 0.25mm on the iPad 4);
  • Instead of 2 Single LED backlight which will Yet be more efficient;
  • Amazingly, the new tablet’s touch panel may change up a bit with (Film on Glass) GF2 bonding that has one layer of glass and two layers of ITO film, instead of iPad 4’s G/G (Glass on Glass) bonding.

But that’s not all that Apple is upto, there is more that you must check out here.
